Staying with one question
What the Hell Is This? is a six-week paired inquiry built around one question: what is this before we say what it is?
The question is simple. Staying with it, without allowing the familiar answer to take over, is not.
A room. A body. A person. A problem. A world. The name appears and, for the most part, we move on.
Each week we approach that movement from a different angle and look again.
You will receive material each week, but the course is not something to sit back and watch. The point is to do the inquiry yourself.

Does the name really reach it?
The title is the question we will be working with.
We are not trying to arrive at a better philosophy or a more spiritual description. We are checking whether the familiar answer really contains what is here.
Does the name reach what is here? Does the explanation finish it? Or have we simply stopped looking because the answer felt convincing?
The answer will keep appearing. We are interested in the moment when it starts standing in for what is actually here.
How it works
A new part each week
A new part is released each Monday for six weeks. Everyone starts together and works through the same material during that week.
There are no live group meetings and no fixed meeting time. You listen and read in your own time, then arrange the paired inquiry directly with your partner.
Each part includes an audio orientation, written material and a specific inquiry to work with during the week.
Some of the inquiry happens in pairs. Some of it happens in ordinary life, when something suddenly feels obvious, solid or unquestionably true.
The audio and PDFs are yours to keep. The weekly release is there because this kind of material is very easy to understand, save for later and never actually do.

The paired form
Looking with another person
The paired inquiry is a central part of the course.
One person looks and speaks. The other listens, asks the prompts and brings them back when explanation has started doing the work instead. They are not there to teach or interpret.
You can join with someone you already know. Otherwise, after enrolment, you will receive access to a private directory and arrange the partnership directly.
If you cannot find a suitable partner before the course begins, I will refund your payment in full.
The laboratory
Ordinary life is where the work happens
You do not need silence, meditation or a carefully prepared state for this.
It can begin while making coffee, answering an email, feeling irritated, looking across a room or worrying about tomorrow.
Most ordinary moments feel known before we have really looked at them. Something appears, we know what it is, and attention moves on.
This course keeps returning to that exact point. What is actually here? Is the thing itself found, or has the answer supplied more than the experience does?
No replacement answer
Not replacing one explanation with another
It is easy to see through one description and immediately replace it with another.
The person becomes awareness. Separation becomes oneness. The world becomes consciousness.
It may sound more sophisticated, but the same thing has happened. The question has been closed.
So we look again and stay with what is actually present, without immediately turning it into something else.
The new explanation may be no closer than the old one.
What the course asks
A real six-week commitment
Enough time each week
To listen, read, meet your partner and keep returning to the inquiry afterwards.
Reliability
Your partner is depending on you, so the paired meetings need to be treated as real commitments.
Continuity
The six parts build on one another. Missing weeks will weaken the process.
No performance
There is no impressive answer to give. The useful part is noticing where something still feels completely obvious and true.

Before you register
Do I need previous experience?
No. You can come to this as a newcomer or after attending This Radiant Space. You do not need prior knowledge, but you do need to be willing to look and take part properly.
Do I need to bring a partner?
No. You may register with someone you already know or use the private partner directory after enrolment. A group of three can also work where availability makes a pair difficult. If you are unable to find a suitable partner before the course begins, your payment will be refunded in full.
Are there live group meetings?
No. The course is delivered through six weekly releases, paired inquiry and email support.
How much time should I allow?
Enough time each week to listen to the audio, read the material, meet your partner and keep working with the inquiry afterwards. The paired meeting is only part of it.
Do I keep the material?
Yes. The audio and PDFs are downloadable and remain yours after the six weeks end.
What is the refund policy?
Course payments are normally non-refundable. However, if you do not already have a partner and are unable to find a suitable one before the course begins, your payment will be refunded in full. A place may also be transferred once to a later intake if the request is made before Part One is released.
What does email support include?
You can email me about questions that come directly from the course and the inquiry during the six weeks. A limited number of separate 45-minute sessions are also available for €90, plus VAT where applicable in the EU, if a question needs more sustained attention.
