A misty mountain valley with a hillside village in subdued morning light

Workshops

Workshops in which we look directly at what is here, and at what we usually take it to be.

Three workshops, three different kinds of support

All three workshops begin with direct experience, but they are designed for different purposes.

Learning to Look teaches the basic movement in a live, supported setting.

This Radiant Space opens that inquiry into body, world, time, space, others and self.

What the Hell Is This? asks you to sustain the looking for yourself across six weeks, with paired inquiry at the centre.

The work comes from Peter Brown’s Yoga of Radiant Presence. You do not need to know his work before joining.

Three ways into the work

Four live meetings · starts 21 January 2027

Learning to Look

A four-week live introduction to the basic practice of direct inquiry. You are shown how to begin, how to recognise when explanation has taken over and how to return to the evidence. No previous experience is needed.

Six live meetings · starts 18 March 2027

This Radiant Space

Six live small-group meetings exploring body, world, time, space, others and self through Peter Brown’s Yoga of Radiant Presence. The inquiry develops through orientation, guided looking, paired work, group discussion and questions.

What the Hell Is This?

A six-week paired inquiry built around one question: what is this before we say what it is? There are no live group meetings. A new part arrives each Monday and you sustain the inquiry through the week, working directly with your partner.

What each workshop is designed to do

Learning to Look

Learn the basic operation through live guidance, demonstration and the chance to work through difficulties as they arise.

This Radiant Space

Apply the inquiry to the wider structures of experience through six live meetings.

What the Hell Is This?

Develop continuity and independence through weekly material and sustained paired inquiry.

You do not need a special state. You do need to look.

No previous experience is required

You may already know Peter Brown’s work, non-duality or other forms of direct inquiry. You may be completely new to it.

You may be tired of spiritual ideas that sound good but do not seem to touch what is actually happening. Or ordinary experience may simply seem stranger than the usual explanations allow.

You do not need meditation experience, philosophical knowledge or agreement with a particular view.

You need curiosity and a willingness to check what is here rather than settle for the familiar answer.

Starting with what is here

No belief

You do not have to accept anything I say. Check it against your own experience.

No performance

There is no need to sound spiritual, understand quickly or come back with an impressive report.

No state-making

Quiet or clarity may appear. They may not. The inquiry does not depend on reaching the right state and keeping it going.

Direct evidence

We keep coming back to a very simple check: what is actually found here?
